Having Trouble Writing?
If you are like most writers, you probably have had times when you just couldn't write anything. Sometimes called "writer's block" it effects every writer at least once in their writing careers. Some writers refer to it as "burnout". Should you run into this problem, here are a few tips and ideas that can help overcome this malady and help you get productive in your writing again. 1) Relax. Take a break and do something else. It might surprise you to know that some of the best ideas you can get will come from simply occupying your mind with another task. 2) Sleep on it. Believe it or not, your mind is still at work even when you are sleeping. Remember to keep a pencil and pad next to your bed to write down any ideas that come to mind when you wake up. 3) Create an atmosphere around you that enables creativity. What this means is to places pictures and other items around your work area that makes you smile and helps you stay relaxed and focused. This could be in the form of pictures of puppies, kittens, a beautiful scenery, your family, or a favorite vacation spot. 4) Listen to music. Similar in the idea to relax, listening to calming music will help you be more creative by helping your mind to stay relaxed. 5) Stay focused on the topic. Easier said than done I know. But keeping your mind on the subject can also go along way to help in being creative. It is best to try to leave all of your problems outside. It takes alot more energy to work when your mind is not focused on the subject at hand than it does when your mind is clear. 6)Outsource it. Sometimes writers will outsource their content so that they can take some time off without losing any marketing they might otherwise be doing. They may have other projects that need their attention, or want to catch up on some existing work. Either way, this is one way to address the problem. This is one of the most common ways they do it. It is a valid and accepted way to keep a presence online constant with fresh content without actually doing the work. One final point, creativity cannot be forced. It must flow. All the ideas above are meant to help you get those creative juices flowing.
