There are ways to promote that won't cost you much money, but some can be a significant investment in time. Traffic Exchanges Believe it or not, but these do actually work when properly used. I recommend using manual traffic exchanges, not auto surf exchanges. Manual surf exchanges guarantee that someone will see your site whereas auto surf exchanges do not. Whether or not you choose to upgrade your membership is strictly up to you. Paid To Click / Paid To Read Sites Among the best low cost or free advertising methods I have found, this is one of the best. It guarantees traffic to your page for a low cost. Most allow you (if you are a member) to spend your credits and cash that have earned for advertising on their site. This can be very cost effective for you the affiliate marketer. As an advertiser, it can mean quality traffic delivered to your site at reasonable prices. Forum Marketing This is one of the best free marketing types there is. The one rule is that you must follow the forum rules or get kicked off and blacklisted. This can be one of the most effective ways to build quality traffic. The one advantage is that your posts stay for a while. There are plenty of forum out there for you to market in, it just takes a little effort to find them. What it requires is joining and being active in your posts and replies. The more active you are, the more back links you have. This is the key to building traffic from this type of marketing. Ironically, when you start joining forums, you can usually find references to other forums. It may take a little digging to find them though, but it is a good way to build up your list of forums to market in. Ezine Marketing Advertising on e-zines can get expensive. Most offer advertising space in each issue or solo ads to their readers. Depending on the number of subscribers the e-zine has, the prices can really hurt your budget. One way to deal with this is to offer the e-zine owner articles with your "about the author" box included. The can be a win win situation for both you and the ezine owner. You get free advertising from your article and the owner gets original content for free. In cases like this, you should put your very best effort into the work to get better results. The better the work, the more likely the owner will be willing to have your articles in future issues. Mailing List and lead capture pages Some gurus swear by this one. What it involves is creating a page with the express purpose of getting people to join your mailing list. One good way to do this is to present a problem to them that they can understand. For example: getting quality traffic to their site. Then offer a free report or short e-book that contains some real information that they can use and include a link to your site or affiliate page. An option to including the link in the e-book is send them to the affiliate site after they sign up for the free report.It is easily done with most auto responder services. The first e-mail they receive should have a download link for the report you promised in your lead capture page. The resulting mailing list will have responsive leads for you to work with. One key to effective page creation is to keep your message simple. In other words, don't make it too flashy or drawn out. You can use any of the other methods above to drive traffic to your lead capture page.
